Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan is a native of in and raised at home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother was a backing vocalist for Philadelphia International Records. In the year she turned 5 old, her father landed job as curator at The city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the landmark historical building. She graduated in 2005 of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan began her singing career as a contralto with the children's choirand a few years later in the adult group. His exposure to secular music was initially limited "I was doing solos in the church, and I was asked to go on an evangelical label when I was 11, but I was not prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. Then, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I was selected to perform "Accept What God Allows" on the show Showtime at the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan signed her first contract with Jive Records when she was fifteen. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records around the age of fifteen. She was the producer of an entire album, but the album didn't get released. Sullivan was eventually dropped at the hands of the company. Missy Elliott was her producer for some songs on her debut album. Of these "Backstabbers" of Timbaland and Timbaland, which Elliott wrote, is a highlight of their working relationship.
